Live-in Care
In March 2023 I completed a full week’s training with Miracle Worker’s Agency with certificate, in compliance with the "All Wales Induction Framework for Health and Social Care", including ALL aspects of every level of Live-In Care. This comprised In-person training of 40 hours plus 15 hours of online training and updates.
So far, I have completed 3 placements of 12 weeks each - 24/7, one being partially blind. Each giving me experience in health & safety, full household management, nutrition and hydration, safeguarding, risk assessments, first aid; and providing companionship, shopping and meal planning and preparation, domestic duties, driving to and support in medical appointments and financial meetings, help in keeping the family diary up to date, support in taking medication. I also successfully encouraged exercise and time spent outdoors; viewing interesting programs, reading aloud stories and articles and as a companion for listening to music.
The clients' health significantly improved as a result of good regular healthy diet; personalised well-being coaching; and being supported by my being fully present when together: quality of attention given makes a big difference to a person's sense of wellbeing.
In being fully present with the individual, giving him / her my complete attention and really listening to their wishes, I facilitate a natural balance of sensitivity to the client’s ever-changing needs and requirements of personal comfort, emotional and spiritual well being with an ability to respond in subtle ways to improve the quality of life in each and every moment. I have a good sense of humor (where & when appropriate) I am well educated and have multiple interests and life experience that I am happy to share; conversely I am very good at sensing the right questions to ask - where appropriate, to engage a good and healthy connection in communication: the foundation of all relationship. I also really appreciate (being together in) silence.
I am fully insured with Balens for all my work, and a registered member of the Complimentary Medicine Association
I am available for work, through an accredited agency, or through a private referral or contact.
