My experienced approach to this original work is balanced between Education, Health and Communication: consulting / coaching / training. Since 1999, I have worked internationally with one-to-one clients, in groups and in organizations - with people from ALL walks of life.
I am a highly motivated and focused Professional; and I enjoy helping people find different, creative ways to make sense of the world they inhabit and to rediscover a new potential that is emerging at this time. I have always been interested in how good health is established and maintained, and in harmonic relationship with the environment.
I am led by and through Creative Inquiry. In 2006 I completed a Masters Degree program as a direct result of asking repeatedly ‘How do I initiate and develop a new understanding in organizational, personal and professional development and transformation?” Gosh, that was a steep and bountiful learning curve!
Communication is the bedrock of all relationships: requiring authenticity, coherence and clear honest intention
While I was at university, I met Spiral Dynamics Integral – an elegant and sophisticated ‘map’ of evolution of Human Beings: indicating where we’ve been, where we are now, and where we are (potentially) going. It is neither hypothesis or theory - rather, it has arisen out of the DATA of 'how people are'.
I see and use 'Spiral Dynamics Integral' as a lens - a holistic framework which helps identify, monitor, manage - and restore wholeness in: people, perception, situations, ideas and creative solutions.
On the surface, my earliest years were spent in an environment of eccentric academics, a mixed-bag of entrepreneurs and traditional public servants. But what really nurtured my soul was connection with the original Chapter Arts Center where I was lucky to meet co-founder & director Mik Flood; and by a large international jazz community. Always curious, both of these hugely dynamic arenas introduced me to some interesting people many of whom led self-managed and highly creative lives: and so I observed, Listened and asked a LOT of questions!
Today, as a seasoned professional consultant/coach, teacher/facilitator and a friend I am known for my trustworthy intuitive perception, practical & common sense, and for an uncanny ability to ask the unexpected questions that lead to creative insight and inspired action. Those formative creative learning environments taught me so much about the nature of possibilities inherent in all people: Creativity is our birth-right. How to discover and express unfolding creative potential is the over-arching motivation that guides my steps.
I see that creativity, vitality and generative listening are essential to living a sovereign life. Every day I get to choose where and how to focus intention, attention and engage my highest potential, to work in flow and synchronicity with the day. One of my teachers suggests that 'in the open book of life, one page is written and one page is blank for me to write - as Sophia' … And I don't want anyone else - person, boss, institution or government, messing about on my blank page!
Nelson Mandela made this quote famous: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure … As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”
Since 1999, I have used several different forms of Qigong each and every day as an ongoing source of personal enrichment and education. I enjoy the renewed clarity and co-ordination it gives me from each session. It invigorates deep connection with self, others and my future ideas. Qigong supports me in developing a grounded embodied presence - giving me the quality of attention I need to access 'journeys of transformation' for myself and others.
